Lancs Cup Defeat

Posted:
It was Lancashire cup day as we hosted St Helens res fc , the saints started well enough keeping St Helens at bay until mid way through the first half they took the lead. However the saints managed to get an equaliser through a Craig Naylor penalty. The second half was still a tight game and the saints could have taken the lead when a golden opportunity fell to a saints forward but was unable to take the chances on an open goal. St Helens took the lead after a scramble in the goal area and went further ahead when with the saints pushing for a leveller were left short at the back for St Helens to score a 3rd goal . A much better performance from the team against a much improved St Helens side.

Home Win

In our second game of the new season we were at home to Ratcliffe Boys club, the first half saw chances go begging for the saints until Craig Naylor opened the scoring with a well taken goal, it was then the turn of Joe Hulls who fired in 2 specials past the keeper, with the saints now taking control of the game new signing Lee Hill finished well past the keeper. A good performance by the team and now look forward to next Saturday at home again to Old Boltonians fc ko 2-30pm.

In our first game of the new season things didn’t turn out the way we wanted , with the manager Jamie having to stand in as emergency keeper we were at home soon 2-0 down but did pull one back through a Joe Hull goal in reply. The restart saw more goals conceded by the saints with a single goal reply with a goal by Alex Chu. There were a few reasons for this heavy defeat and we must ensure this does not happen again. UTA.
